About The Tutelage
Zeenat Monga is the founder of The Tutelage. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, graduating cum laude with majors in Life Sciences and English.
Zeenat gained valuable teaching experience across a range of school environments in Johannesburg, including private, public, and rural schools, and across different curricula. This diverse exposure has shaped her ability to adapt her teaching approach to meet the unique academic and emotional needs of each learner. She later worked within the homeschooling sector, further strengthening her learner-centred approach.
After relocating to Newcastle in 2022, Zeenat identified a gap in accessible Life Sciences tuition and academic support for secondary-phase learners. This led to the establishment of The Tutelage in May 2022.
The Tutelage was founded on the belief that academic success and learner well-being are deeply interconnected. In addition to Life Sciences tutoring, Zeenat integrates her background in teen wellness counselling, creating a safe and supportive learning environment that considers learners’ academic, emotional, and mental well-being.
Zeenat’s work and approach to education have been recognised through interviews on two radio stations, where she shared insights on learner support, education, and academic well-being.
Recognising that learners require flexibility, The Tutelage offers a range of support options, including structured tuition, flexible WhatsApp academic support, and Life Sciences study guides designed for effective revision.
Zeenat remains committed to ongoing professional development and continuously seeks ways to improve teaching strategies and the learning experience of her learners.
